School counselors wear many hats and perform a wide range of duties. They are responsible for providing academic, college and career, and social/emotional counseling to students. They also help students set goals, develop plans to achieve those goals, and provide support and resources to help students succeed. They are often the first point of contact for students who are struggling academically, socially, or emotionally and they play a vital role in connecting students with the resources they need to succeed.

One of the most important roles of school counselors is to help students develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in school. They work with students to identify their strengths and struggles and develop strategies to address their areas of need. This can include helping students develop better study habits, improve their time management skills, and increase their motivation to succeed.

School counselors also play a critical role in helping students plan for their future. They provide information and resources on college and career options, and help students develop the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. They also help students understand the importance of post-secondary education and provide support and resources to help students make informed decisions about their future.

Despite the many hats they wear and the wide range of duties they perform, school counselors often have a small window of time to work with each student. However, their impact on student success is undeniable.
